Comprehensive Legal Help After An Injury

Two suspected drunk drivers cause five-car crash

The roadways in California can get very congested and hectic. Navigating through traffic can be a risky task. However, dangers persist even when traffic dies out. Negligent drivers could be on the roads at any time and in any place. Thus, unsuspecting drivers could collide with a distracted, reckless or intoxicated driver, resulting in a serious accident.

According to recent reports, a five-car crash occurred in Menlo Park. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 during the early morning hours. Based on the preliminary investigation, the California Highway Patrol believes that two drunk drivers caused the crash.

Authorities believe that the accident happened when the driver of a Honda Civic lost control of their vehicle and rolled over. Shortly after, the Honda was struck by a BMW. An oncoming Honda Accord was able to stop before colliding with the two vehicles; however, it was rear-ended by a Jeep after making the abrupt stop. Lastly, a Dodge Dart collided with the Jeep, making it a five-car collision.

As a result of this multi-vehicle crash, two people suffered serious injuries. The initial investigation revealed that the driver of the Honda Civic and the driver of the Jeep were under the influence of alcohol. Both were arrested for DUI.

The aftermath of a car crash can be overwhelming and life-altering. The injuries not only cause pain and suffering to the victim but can also create ongoing financial challenges. Serious injuries require much time and care to recover from, and, in some cases, victims will have to undergo ongoing medical care. This can get costly, especially if a victim is unable to work because of their injuries. In these situations, a personal injury claim could be beneficial.
