OSHA announces plan to address workplace injuries of nurses

Health care workers, especially nurses, in California and throughout the country will receive additional resources and support from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. To address workplace injuries in the health care industry, which experiences a higher rate of reported injuries than any other general industry in the United States, OSHA announced that it intends to expand its National Emphasis Program on Nursing and Residential Care Facilities.

California Crane Accident Kills Construction Worker

California news reports that a man from Henderson, Nevada was killed this past week when a 75-ton crane toppled over and pinned the man underneath.  According to ABC News, the man had been a crane operator for more than 40 years, and was known as "one of the best."  The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal-OSHA) is still investigating the accident.

Recently, a 31-year-old woman died after falling 28 feet at the FreeDrop USA attraction during the San Bernardino County Fair.   The "FreeDrop USA" attraction involves people jumping off a platform nearly 40-feet high and then landing onto a giant inflatable bag.
